Alleged Valley mortgage modifier sentenced to 5 years

Former loan officer Bobby John Herrera has been sentenced to five years in prison for a mortgage scam that victimized 47 Valley homeowners, according to the Arizona Attorney General.
Herrera of Glendale has also been ordered to pay $80,541 in restitution to his victims, many of whom have since lost homes to foreclosure.
In December 2008, Herrera was arrested by Surprise and Peoria police in connection with the scheme. He pleaded guilty to one count of fraudulent schemes in April.
According to investigators, Herrera solicited struggling homeowners claiming he could modify their mortgages or provide other aid to help them prevent foreclosure. Herrera allegedly claimed to have …

Mortgage Fraud Artist who Victimized 47 Valley Homeowners Pleads Guilty

 Bobby John Herrera of Glendale has pleaded guilty to one count of fraudulent schemes for a  mortgage loan "assistance" scam he ran last year, according to the Arizona Attorney General’s office..

In December 2008, Herrera was arrested by Surprise and Peoria police in connection with the scheme. He pleaded guilty earlier this week in Maricopa County Superior Court. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on May 13 and could face five years in prison as well as $73,000 in restitution to victims.
